Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 20 years of age at the date of the written examination, but must be 21 years of age by the date of hire. Applicants must not be 35 years of age or older at the time the written examination is administered.
- U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the US
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ONE of the following: Minimum of sixty (60) college semester hours from an accredited institution by application submission date OR Two (2) years of active military service with an Honorable Discharge by application submission date
- Possess a valid Driver’s License
- Proof of completion of the Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) test, with attainment date less than six (6) months prior to the written exam.
- Have correctable vision to 20/20 and have the ability to distinguish colors
- Enter into an “Authorization for Release of Personal Information Agreement”
- Enter into an “Employment of Relatives Agreement” – Note: Applicants with relatives who are currently employees with the Village will not be eligible for hire
- Enter into an “Abstinence from Tobacco Products Agreement”
- Must have ability to understand the English Language (written and spoken)

- Copy of birth record/proof of legal authorization to work in the U.S. May include: county/state issued birth record, U.S. passport, naturalization papers, or permanent resident card
- Copy of valid POWER test card dated 1no earlier than September 28, 2024
Written Exam Information:
The written examination will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Information on the location and time of the exam will be provided later.

We strongly recommend that you save this document to your computer or data storage device. Once completed, you must then print out the Skokie PD Application for submission.
You will also need to print and sign the required release forms and gather the required documents for submission to IOS Recruitment in order to be considered for this position.
